I am wondering how much any mechanic would usually charge to install one of these on a 1g AWD?

rear driveshaft carrier bearing

Thanks.

I doubt the average mechanic would be able to do a carrier bearing. I think you're going to have to take it to a driveshaft specialist, in which case it probably won't cost much at all. <$50 probably assuming you bring them the shaft off the car.

Anybody can do a carrier bearing with the right tools. It's not that hard to do.

I would replace both carrier bearings, the rubber insulators, and both U-joints at the same time. If one of the carrier bearings is bad, it puts a lot of stress on the other components and causes them to wear out significantly faster.
