Ok i just finished the swap and all that i bought the tranny from someone on the classifieds i did everything he told me to do with the flids and stuff. the other day it was dripping. so i decided to check the fluid and put more in it. it took about a quart and it started dripping more when i filled it. i let the fluid get level with the fill plug and i put the plug back on a started it moved it back so i could see the fluid and it was matalic.

A little metallic in the fluid is no big deal. The synchronizers in the transmission are wearable soft parts so you will have that. Them wearing is what slows/speeds up for the next gear.
I would however worry about the tranny being a quart down on fluid. I think they only hold 2.3 quarts so that is a significant amount. Find your leak and fix it.

What are you asking? Metallic fluid obviously isn't good, that's pieces of your tranny. I suppose it would grind a lot more if it was a whole quart low that is a considerable amount.

How is the shifting now?

edit *LOL treed*

That usually isn't a good thing. If you were running it a quart low, then you would have to asume there is damage.

First find your leak, and then fix it. Then flush it out completely and refill it. Then drive it for a day or two, and then drain it again. If it is still metallic looking, then you have problems.

How is the tranny shifting right now?

Edit: Sorry you guys above beat me to it while I was typing.

The tranny shifts good when its got fluid but i think when it gets low it grinds b/c when it was a quart low it grinded when you put it in first and reverse. i Think one of my seals is leaking from the output shaft or the driver side axel seal but i dono.
