The only thing I can find on this is the vfaq. I tried a search here, but nothing. Sometimes I get the feeling that there is something wrong with the search feature every once in a while. Must just be me.....

Anyway, All I need for this swap is a 2g mas, and a 2g plug right? Also, can I use my 1g intake setup with a k&n air filter, or do I need a 2g intake pipe? If I do need a new intake pipe, how do I know which ones from a parts catalog will work with a 2g mas?

Thanks

your going to need a couple more things then that to install it, since installing the 2g MAS will make your car run lean everybody suggest's running 550cc injectors along with a safc or afc to control the new injectors and airflow and also a logger would be a could idea

I've found this out the hard way and bought the 2g mas and plug and thought it would work, the car would barley run at all so your going to need a couple more things for that setup.

I already have all that. I have 550 rc injectors, safcll, and a palm logger. thanks for the post though.

I'm more looking for exactly what I need for this swap. I will need an adapter plug for sure, and the 2g mas for sure.....Now, do I need a 2g or better intake pipe?

Thanks a bunch.

I am running a complete 2g set up. I would suggest an aftermarket pipe if you have the money. Or you could go to a junkyard and pick up the aircan or 2g pipe.

I've done it to my car. Its not difficult at all. First, your stock pipe will not work because the 2g MAF its wider allowing for more airflow into the car(main purpose of the upgrade). The readings will be better because it has better maps etc... Anyways you need a 2g stock pipe or an aftermarket one to have it fit, make sure you swap the cables correctly, else your car is gonna run like crap and will start to throw cel codes all over. What i did was the following, i got a 2g stock pipe i installed the 2g maf with the 1g maf cables I opened the screw under the MAF and opened it a bit more for more airflow. I went to the local performance shop in town and i asked for a Intake kit for a 2G TURBO, they game me the intake and a little adapter to adapt to the MAF.

This was the aftermath;

A non mas is a direct pipe to the turbo inlet without a mas and the Mas sensor "GM" located in the UICP going into the throttle body I will try to find a pic for you.

Wow, thanks for that. I dont think I'm ready for that yet......
I will go with the one you showed me before. So the 2g mas will just bolt onto the pipe and my k&N filter goes over it?

I noticed that not all of you have your vehicle profiles filled out and up to date. It's important that you take the time to do so, it makes things easier for those trying to help you out. Thanks.
