Hey guys!

Basically I was wondering how do you secure aftermarket mufflers? The stock one is secured by a plastic/rubber mount that bolts onto the muffler and does a great job of holding and suspending it.

But the aftermarket mufflers don't have the special extension for the mount, so how do you secure them? I've seen people in civics securing those with some rope, which looks really ghetto. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm considering upgrading the whole exhaust altogether. My friend tells me that it's gotta be 100% stainless steel. I checked out slowboyracing, and they're selling those for like $800. I found this on e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-9...tegoryZ33630QQihZ006QQitemZ160032291712QQrdZ1

And it's all stainless steel and sounds pretty good. AND it's only $200 with the delivery. What do you guys think?

Oh also, can somebody recommend some mufflers? I'm looking for a very deep, but not loud tone, any suggestions?

Thanks!

You could weld the hangar on to the muffler.

I have a Vibrant muffler with a 3" exhaust, and it provides a really deep rumble. Not a loud annoying sound at all.

This exhaust won't be much better than stock. I didn't see it clearly mention 3" piping, but I"ll give it the benefit of the doutb. My problem is that it does clearly state that it necks down to 2.25" where it meets the muffler.

Yeah look for Megan Racing exhaust on eBay. For $400 you can get a 3" cat-back. Putting a muffler one isn't going to do anything but make your car sound annoying. Only way I have ever secured a muffler is by welding. Gotta make brackets.

It has all the hangers already welded onto it. It will attach to the stock mounting points.

I wouldn't waste my time on it with it only having a 2.25" inlet. Exact same as our stock exhaust. Unhooking it where it connects over the rear control arms will actually benefit you more sound and performance wise than that.
