Montreal,
Hi guys,

I have a 92 talon tsi AWD. I replaced my engine block with a 6 bolt and at the same time i installed a 16G turbo. After putting everything together, i try to start my motor and nothing happen at the beginning. So i charged my batterie and now all the belts (including the timing belt) are turning but the engine is not starting.

What's the problem?

Have you checked to see if you are getting fuel/spark? I'd atleast start there. Then post back with your results.

Hi

Thank you all for answering. The thing I discovered was there is a hose (the smallest) from the bov that is not connected I am not sure where this one is and if it prevents the engine from start.
Also under the battery you have a 3 way hose connections which I broke one of the connection. Would you know if any of these are crucial for the start. The spark plugs seems to e functionning very nicely.
Fuel seems to be comming from the fuel rail side next to the timing belt. Once we tried couple of time we heard an explosion that came from the battery side of the engine.
Your comments/ideas are welcome thanks

The smallest pipe/hose coming out of the BOV goes to the intake manifold, their is a little nipple somewhere near the middle of the intake manifold behind the fuel rail. I'm really not sure if it has to be hooked up for the car to start but you definately need it hooked up. I have no idea what the hoses under the battery are, could be emissions stuff. If I'm correct that they are the emissions lines, and you have no worry about emissions testing in your state follow this

Remove Emissions Vacuum Lines
The four small rubber hoses that go from your throttle body into the engine bay have no purpose other than to active the emissions equipment. Remove all of them. They go down to the thermostat housing and then back behind the engine, and then BLOCK OFF the throttle body ports with little vacuum caps, RTV, and zip ties. This will make your car illegal in the eyes of the emissions test facilities.

The hoses under your battery go to the egr canister not really a worry the other small hose on the intake runs to the selonoid on the fire wall on the right side of the engine bay .It hooks to the bottom of the far right selonoid . It will cause a vaccumm leak and is a problem.

Hi guys. Nothing seem to work. I tried everything and its still the same thing.
I'm getting fuel and spark. My timing marks are good. I tried to play with the timing sensor (it's located on the right of the head), but nothing is happening. My gas tank is not empty.

What else do i have to do ?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

I just did a compression test and nothing is showing. I m not getting air. Whats wrong with that ?

Don t forget that i installed a new turbo 16G.

Thanks
