I have a 1997 GS-T and just had my transmission rebuilt. When we recieved the transmission we are having some doubts that it is the right transmission we got back. Can anyone tell me if there are any differences between the GS transmission and the GST transmission? Whether the differences be in looks, structure or if a GS transmission will even fit in a GST. I need to get as much information about this as soon as possible so if the transmission is incorrect I can go back to the re-builder as soon as I can to have it fixed. Please help me. I really appreciate all the help.

They're the same size, the gs 2.0 trans will fit on a turbo. What are the codes on the bellhousing? that'd be the best way to tell. although the internals could be swapped even if its gs bellhousing..

spyder gs or hardtop gs? isnt the hardtop gs a chrysler motor while the spyder gs is a mitsubishi motor. if its the spyder gs transmission i think they will bolt up because the 4g63 clutches have been said to work so i assume it will bolt up however wether or not the internals are the same i dont know.

besides i have heard the n/t 4g63 tranny is simply not capable of holding the same amount of power as the turbo tranny and would fry in short order, at least according to Mavisky ( a dsm sponser driver ) I contemplated slapping a n/t tranny on mines for the gear ratios but if I were you id just save up and see what shephard has to offer for your set up.
