I just put on a cone style intake on my gst and I was wondering should there be some weatherstripping on the front of the hood(maybe the side of the hood also). There are some holes on the front of hood that look like there once was some weatherstripping there. The reason why I am asking I am worried that water will get to the intake. If so does any one where to get the orginal weather stripping or will just universal stick on type do just as well

Those are alignment holes for the jig that welds the frame. The only weatherstrip on the hood is along the back edge, as it's the only place that needs it.
So long as you don't try fording creeks, any water you get on the intake will only help the engine.

My 1G has weathering strips up front, one long one in the middle, and 2 smaller stripes above each headlight on the hood, they have snap-it pins that go into the hood. Like I said this is on my 1G so not sure about 2Gs.

All of the 97 to 99 eclipses that I have seen do not have weather strinping there, but my 95 gst does. You really don't need it. the amount of water that mght get past the hood is very little. Besides most filters are designed to be able to get a little wet and not have problems. You should have not problems what so ever with that.
