Dont worry about it, just enjoy the car

I really wouldnt be worried about crank walk with the seven bolts. It really isnt as common as everyone says. It only occurs to with 5-7% of the 7 bolt motors. I wouldnt worry about it. Get the eclipse you want for the type of racing or driving you want to do and worry about it if it ever does happen. Good luck when you get your car!!!:thumb: :talon:

I actually just bought a Awd 2g... Like 2 months ago.. From Ebay!! As it turns out my car had Crankwalk... So I wouldnt tell him not to worry about it... BUT.. I went these guys called Road Race Engineering.. and they gave me a 6bolt with all the goodies... Whoever said that earlier... Smart Man...

CrankWalk is pretty obvious.. My mistake was I bought the car out of state and had it delivered.. Ebay's only good for intake pipes and valve covers.. All I can say is good luck... TEST DRIVE if at all possible...

Put it this way.... when you buy a car there is no garentee that everything will be perfact. with any preowned vehicle you are taking a risk because you never know what that car has been through or happend to it. I the only percaution you can make is to know the history. BUY A CARFAX REPORT. i wish i did.

I too agree that crank walk is way overrated. I bought my '95 gsx just about a year ago (must common year to take the walk) and all is still good. Buying a car without test driving is always scary though. Don't be scared of 2g's just because of crankwalk. Trust me, you'll fall in love and never look back, or at least I did. Even if mine did crankwalk, I still would not regret buying it.

I love 2g's, but maybe I am cursed. I have owned 2 2g's and both developed CW. One heavily modded one bone stock. And I also personaly know another person that has had CW. So as far as it not being common, well then again maybe my luck just sucks. That aside what everyone else is telling you is correct. TEST DRIVE, you can't miss they symptoms of CW. If you think it does you can low ball him, drive it until it does die and then drop in a 6bolt. CW is a pain in the @$$, but it is not that big of a deal, and it give you a reason to do some serious mods (ie drop in a stroker 6bolt). Just my .02

I still have one of the CW 2g's, and like I said love it. The other one got traded in to stealership on a new car for the fiancee, it had not died yet, and became their problem

Very much agree with MyGSX2120 "Trust me, you'll fall in love and never look back, or at least I did. Even if mine did crankwalk, I still would not regret buying it."

Yea I agree with everyone on here, crankwalk is pretty overrated, I just bought my 2g gst about a few weeks ago and and I too was pretty scared of the issue of crankwalk. butit ran just fine. My buddies reassured me that it's pretty overrated. I have a 2 buddies whom both have awd 2gs- no crankwalk. So I wouldn't worry too much about it. I love my 2g and wouldn't drive anything else. Don't let crankwalk scare you away from purchasing a car you'll love, but as everyone else says, just test drive it, that's your best way of knowing.
