Bigger is better. Why keep the cat?

kinda pricy compared to where im at. They charge 120 for a custom catback with stock cat. I bought a downpipe and hes building the piping back to the muffler for 120. Total cost to me will be 220. And as for keeping a cat since were both in Nazi California just switch it in and out of have the shop weld in a flange so you can switch the cat and a testpipe in.

After seeing EBAY catbacks, that is overpriced. Pipes are pipes. My friend picked up a 3" TURBOBACK for ~$350 shipped with tax. 3" downpipe, 3" catback. Full stainless steel, new gaskets, new bolts, no fitment issues. Apexi N1 style muffler/tipe WITH removal silencer. The packaging was great, shipment was fast, quality was surprisingly good. Welds were solid and clean. I'm comparing to my overpriced brand name stuff as seen in my profile, so it was indeed giving me another view on ebay parts; a positive one.

When I saw what you can get for the price, it's really hard to pay more. Unless of course you have no choice.

If there is one available for you on EBAY, you should check it out. If not, that is about average price for a custom job.

You've got my attention...where'd he get this exhaust?:D The best eBay bargain I've heard of was $400 shipped, and it was aluminized, not SS. Had a magnaflow cat and muffler, so maybe the Apexi-style is where your friend's source saved some $$$. Was your friend pleased with fitment, sound, etc.? The eBay one I'm referring to get several positive reviews, so you get a warm fuzzy about not getting a lemon.

I picked up my megan turboback exhaust for 375$ shipped to my door. It was a cateliminator turboback but you can go to an exhaust shop and have them cut out part and make room for your cat for really cheap and shouldnt take them more than an hour to do. I LOVE my ebay parts, b&m clone short shifter and turboback exhaust. Just make sure the company has good feedback and you are usually set.

yeah bro im in cali i cant remove the cat. but in overall the price is decent? I mean a catback is a catback. In the end they should all give me aroudn the same performance gains.. unless if im missing something :)

the ?'s is 2'5'' or 3''

Plus the price of the welder, right?

Cost of 90 amp gas-less mig and wire included. About $200 for the exhaust components and $80 for the welding equipment. And doing the job comes witha free sun tan. LOL

turbobackfor 315? where you get that from? Im not finding no catback underneath $300 bucks online, and that is not including shipping.

Usually, there's not a big difference in price of a 2.5" vs 3" exhaust, so I'd suggest getting 3". You can do a lot with 2.5", but considering the small price difference, why not go 3", right?:thumb:

catback online, well under 300 bucks.. 116.
About what an exhaust shop charges, crazy..

Yeah and it depends what your goals are for your car. If your going to put anythign larger then a 16g on i'd defniitely get a 3". If your planning on staying stock turbo, 2.5" will be good without boost creep.

Yeah but he's FWD, wich an exhaust for our 1g fwd's are harder and more expensive to find since they requiere more bents. That one on the link wouln't fit.

Reason why I also built my own 3" exhaust, from the turbo all the way back, gotta say though ebay helped me out with the flex pipe, but the rest of the mandrel bents from a local exhaust shop.

yeah im going 3''
And as im looking at the prices from other catback's, I think im going with the $270 catback from the local shop since I really cant find anythign cheaper.
