I've done a lot of research and now I have narrowed it down to 4 downpipes. I will be making a custom 3"catback with a magnaflow muffler at the end. The choices are : buschur, rsr, rre, and apexi n1. Whichever I go with will be 2. 5". My question is, which will be best suited for performance and with the magnaflow muffler? Thanks everyone

Not sure how much all of that will cost in the end, but I've seen some 3" turbobacks with hi-flow cat and magnaflow muffler for $300 shipped on ebay. Also, folks who have purchased it said fitment and quality was great except that it doesn't have the DP bracket that bolts to the motor, but you can fab that or have it done - or leave it alone if you don't mind your mani, turbo, and DP all hanging off the ex. mani. head studs. This was aluminized steel, not SS, so that might affect your decision as well. Just an FYI.:thumb:

Thanks for the reply, I tried looking for that system you mentioned through ebay, I wasn't able to find it..if you can link it, that would be great, i'd definately check it out. As far as cost, i'm looking at a little over $400, my main concern is that it is mandrel bend.

I picked up a Megan Racing DP(2.5" to 3") for $50 and a Greddy 3" catback for $200. If i were you just wait until you can find stuff at a deal. All my pipes are mandrel bent. check out the classifieds and other web sites. I got mine from a guy around town.

Yea, don't be scared of buying it used. As long as it's rust free, it should be the same as when you buy it new, just a lower price. And a piece of pipe is a piece of pipe. As long as it fits and gets the job done, you'll be fine. Lots of the eBay special stuff doesn't fit exactly right, but with a little bit of time, it can be made to work. I suggest getting the cheapest one. Megan is very cheap for new, but see what you can come up with in the classifieds area for used.

I would get the one with the extra battery pack and the different vibrater settings of super fast and super duper fast, the girls love those....ohh wait you said exhaust..... uhhhh.........I would get the Buschur as well. :thumb: ROFL

I just bought my Megan down pipe and it didnt line up with my cat-back. unless you are getting a magna flow down pipe your new one may not line up. What i regret not doing was going to Minekee and just having them make me a down pipe whavever size i wanted for only like 100$ or so. Thats my idea. If i was going to buy one I would probably just get the Buschur, but you may have to get it extended to match your catback.

There is a magnaflow down pipe? I haven't seen any but will look for one...
I know a pipe is just a pipe, and muffler is gonna be the deciding factor on how the exhaust sounds, but does a downpipe also factor in with the way it will sound?

Another question... Where can I find 3" straight mandrel bent pipes online? I already looked at jcwhitney, but those have bends and I also checked out summit racing, but saw some aluminum pipes there.

I agree. A used name brand exhaust system, as long as it is rust-free is fine. Just look around in the classifieds and on Ebay as well, you should find something eventually. Patience will save you money, we all know that, but look around and see what fits your budget. Good luck.

Sorry. It was $400 shipped. The guy makes them and puts them on eBay, so you gotta get them while they're at auction. Here's a link to one already sold, so you can see the specs. Definitely has all the features most folks want except SS and maybe the DP bracket.

eBay link is here.

hey I just saw the link, that is exactly what i'm looking for. I asked the guy to see if he has any systems for fwd. Thanks.
