i'm about to rebuild my 420a and i want to turbo it to run about 20 to 22 bost i don't even know if i can do that but i guess thats why i'm here.......the car its running really really bad, so bad that i can't sale it for nothing but i have alot of money in to the body now and i just want to make it run good and go faster

it don't matter how much money it cost to do it
i was wanting to know what i sould get inside the 420a so i can run 20 or 22 psi
and what turbo kit and what intercooler what exhaust i kinda like the greddy sound
i know i need a better fual pump but i don't know what one would be bast so just ### help me out ### i want to start rebuilding soon

Pistons and rods to start with. I think your biggest issue is going to be engine management. Just getting a an FMU and a walbro fuel pump is a bad idea. You will lose all reliability if you don't have precise engine management and built motor on 22 psi

A 420A will not tolerate 20-22lbs of boost... Hahn and other companies make kits that run at 6 1/2lbs of boost. You dont need 20-22lbs to build power and thats whats funny about people who turbo non-turbo cars. Your compression is higher therefor you build "more power" naturally asperated than our cars would with the turbo wripped out of it. You said that money is no issue, i fooled around with a 420A, and they are not the best engines in the world, if you have alot of money to play with buy a GST or GSX and swap over your exterior parts you want to keep... But if your so dead set on making the 420A fast invest in a HAHN kit they are complete and they built like 65-80hp on a stage 2 setup with a car that has a base of around 140hp an extra 80hp is alot remember the turbo eclipses are only 210 stock and 195 on the first gens... A hahn turbo 420A w/ 220hp goes pretty good, i just dont know how well they hold up i never had luck with the Dodge Neon engine that they put into the non turbo eclipses thats why i sold my 1995 RS and bought a 1998 GSX you will be much happier if you just did that instead.

With a proper rebuild, a 420a will handle 22 psi. Get forged pistions, and drop the compression ratio down to a more boost friendly 8.0:1. Use ARP studs, and search around for a quality head gasket. I'm not sure if Cometic makes one for the 420a, but if they do, use it.

Fuel pump and a real fuel pressure regulator should be used, as well as a good fuel tuning system, and since the 420a doesn't have a knock sensor, you should seriously consider using a wideband O2 sensor so you can properly monitor the air/fuel ratio.

I could be wrong, but you appear to be fresh when it comes to modifying your car for speed. For that I recommend purchasing this book and give it a good reading. It is a real book, it is not meant to be insulting, and it has lots of very useful information so you can do a proper buildup that won't eat up your money because it's unreliable.

Good luck with your project.
