So I was driving to work the other day in the morning, car started fine no problems at all. Stopped at a gas station to fill the tank, turn the car off, pumped the gas, then went to turn the car back on, and no turnover. I turn it to start and it goes click and then starts humming until I release it. I'm thinking bad starter motor/solenoid? Tomorrow when it gets light out I'm going to check the fuses and the terminals on the battery but I dont think theres any corrosion. All the accessories work and my palm logger is reporting a constant 12v so I dont think its a dead battery/altenator. Any ideas guys?

probably your starter solenoind. Possibly your starter too. If you can use a test light to confirm the starter solenoid is getting volage to it. Then check to see if the starter motor is getitng voltage to it. You could also have a bad connection at the battery. Just because you have 12 volts dosen't mean you have a good connection able to support 300 amps. If possible get under your vehicle with a soft hammer, or use the wooden handle of a hammer and tap on it while someone holds it into the crank position. If the brushes are stuck in the starter this usually frees them up and will crank the engine over. If this fixes it I would immediately replace the starters as it's bound to do it again.

Ok, so this morning I went outside checked all the terminals and fuses, everything was fine. I rocked the car back and forth in the driveway, stopped got in and it started right up. Took it for a drive, brought it back, turned it off, waited 1 minute then started it up again, it started fine. Turned it off, waited about 2-3 minutes went to start it again and same thing as before =/ lovely. I'm thinking solenoid or the brushes not catching still?

I have this same problem, any news on it? Mine seems like the battery isn't getting recharged until it cools off from sitting or something. Maybe the alternator is going bad? How can you check this?

Check your connetions and also check your voltage at the battery and at the starter there should only be a slight drop then get back to us.
