I have a stock eclipse GSX and just bought it today. What could the problem be? And also it won't start, I always have to spray gasoline into the engine before being able to start the car.
 
well the fuel cut could many problems try changing the spark plugs and wires and a complete tune up oil,fuel filter, everything also check if your 'check engine light is on' i had a similar problem when i would gun it at 4500 rpms it would hit a wall and then come back to life sometimes.... it was my tps sensor i changed it and its perfect so try these things and let me know how it went
 
The only reason you should get fuel cut is that you overrunning the maf with to much air. Its has really notting to do with fuel it just cuts it. So if your running stock boost you should not be cutting fuel. What happens at 4000rpm to make you think its fuel cut. Fuel cut feels like you motor blew up and you hit a brick wall, only way I can explain it. I would clean you fuel injectors and fuel filter. Maybe you got a clog somehwere.

Holy crap, there is a dumptruck load of misinformation in this thread. WTF This is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Don't post a response if you have no idea what you are talking about.

Fuel cut is a pre-programmed ECU airflow cap. When the ECU sees what it thinks is "too much" airflow, it cuts fuel delivery. It has nothing to do with spark plugs, wires, fuel pump / injector size, etc. It is exclusively airflow related.

To the original poster: Are you sure that it's fuel cut?

Did you do a leak check yet?
 
ive got the same problem going but im not stock. i need some help i believe it to be a bad sensor. which on i dont know yet
