I need to know what s-afc would be the best bang for the buck any help is appreciated. 1k coming tomorrow yesss!

I think what cHz means is that there is only one S-AFC by name (well... technically two) and it's made by Apexi.

You're going to have to be WAY more specific on what you plan on using it for goals/mods-wise, or maybe you have something else in mind that we don't understand.

Yeah, that's waht I meant. Do you mean the APEX'i one or just any air/fuel controller out there?

I think you need to research alot before you buy a tuning device, Especially being you are asking a question like this. Please do not take this post the wrong way. I would look around, And gain some more knowledge about your car (Being you yourself said you are new to the car/engine)... And then go from there.

theres more then one apexi isnt there? i thougt there were like three of them. well anyways what are some other good afc's

I don't know about cheap ones... but DSMLink, AEM EMS, MAFT and I think GReddy E-Manage is an afc, but don't quote me on that.

AEM EMS is on a totally different level. It's a complete stand-alone unit, And is ALOT more complicated then any piggy back type fuel controller.

As for the Apex'i safc. There is the old school version (black box with knobs), There is the safc blue screen first version, The safc2, The new safc neo, And the safc2 also comes in different colors.

The neo combines the vtec controller in there which obviously does not apply to us. Also has some nice eye candy, but the afc functions I believe are the same as teh afc2. Don't quote me on that. It's an SAFC I wouldnt spend too much money on it, as you mod your car and learn about these cars, and want more control, you will be ditching it in the future.

So look for an SAFC2 used, or for 2-3 less rpm points get the SAFC1 which is cheaper, yet still effective.

Being a honda hatch with a turbo will eat your tiny 16g car right up. Hell, My buddies N/A honda will eat your car. You have 200hp and ran a low 14, You have NO room to speak. What's with all the honda bashing? This is not a honda forum, It's a DSM forum. There are plenty of fast honda's, As long as the car is fast, Who cares who makes it? You sound like one of the guys that posts over on streetfire:barf:
I guess you're just like "half" of the other members on this board. Some teenage kid, Who thinks their broke down dsm is faster then every other make and model car, On the road.

in order :
get a cat back, a datalogger and a fmic,
There goes your 1k wisely spent
Ps If u do not plan on gettin a bigger turbo don t get the fmic
Also, how your engine? how s the compression ? hows your belt?

the thing about hondas is it will take a good amount of money to even get near a dsm car, then when you get there the dsm guy is well on his way to running high 12's.
