I have a belt that has ripped but has not broke yet. It is on the driver's side and it runs next to the engine. It is one of three belts on the same side and it is the one that is farthest to the back of the engine. Anyone from this description know what belt this is and how much it will cost to buy and replace?

well i really don't think it was my ac belt because my ac would have to be on for it to be turning and it wasn't. It runs in between the other two belts.

The a/c has a clutch inside the condenser. The pulley just spins freely with the belt and all. Then, when you turn on the a/c, the clutch engages and the pully and condenser start spinning together, thus, the slight drag on your engine.

ok thanks, yea I guess I have to get that fixed before it breaks. A piece of it ripped and i have no idea how.

and if u wait for it to break it will squeck bad when u got to take off after u replace it thats what mine did

Yeh. Get rid of that belt NOW, before it binds up behind your crank pulley and causes a timing belt failure.
Count on needing a new harmonic balancer. It's likely that's why the AC belt failed. It may also have damaged your lower front timing cover.

yea if its torn just go out and cut it off. it wont hurt anything to not have it its just your ac wont work

Ok, i will cut it off i just want to make sure it is not the timing belt or anything that if i cut it my car won't run. The place i am going to is only a few miles away, but i guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
