I recently put my project car on the road. In going to get an inspection my computer will not pass because it says that my monitors are not ready yet. I have rin my car all over creation. and still it has not stopped. Could my Translator cause my O2, O2H, EV,V, and Catalyst monitors to not clear??
Im sorry if this is a repost but i cannot figure this one out on my own..

any advice would be awsome
Thanks
Jarod

The maft does not cause the problem. It is a normal occurance on the 95-96 dsm and most people have to go to the dealership to have the monitors reset. Unfortunately, once you have them cleared, you have to go straight to inspection and do not turn the car off. If you turn it off before inspection, the ecu will revert back to the same thing and you will have to take it back to the dealership.

Cant i just use a computer to reset the Monitors? I do have access to a genysis and if possible i can reset them myself?

I talked to my buddy, who is a certified head mechanic, and he told me is because of my translator. He said also that a performance chip willdo the same thing.

It is not because of a chip, afc, maft, dsmlink, etc. It is an issue in most 2ga ecu's and it is very common. Your buddy might be a certified mechanic, but is he a dsm specialist? This is very common and has been covered on tuners many, many times. Take it to the dealer and have them reset monitors. You can contemplate all day long but in the end, you will wind up at the dealer.
