silencer bottle

ive got a 1999 gsx and i was looking the replace the stock lower intercooler piping with a metal pipe. i looked at the dejon tool and it says that it replaces the silencer bottle.... can anyone tell me what that is and what it does????

The 95 and some 96 cars had a growth on the LIC pipe that Mitus claimed would reduce intake sound when all it really does is increase the volume of the pipe which is a bad thing.
Mitsu dropped the silencer in mid 96 and just used a longer section of that reinforced rubber hose for the LIC S pipe.

Your car does not have such a device.

It's a plastic bottle on the intake of early 2Gs which muffles the sound of the turbo. Not needed.
