If you're NOT a New Member post questions in other forums

If you've already been bumped up from your New Member status, you are no longer limited to posting questions in this forum. We ask that you start using the other, more specific Tech forums to post your questions. This forum is mainly for Newbie questions. Unless you think you're asking a Newbie-type question that you couldn't find the answer to by Searching or browsing the Tech Guide, there is no reason to post your question in this forum. Unless of course, the question is too general and doesn't fit in another forum.

If you're a Proven Member, you should be using this forum primarily to help answer New Member questions, not to ask too many questions.

Tried that - the garbage posts just pile up. This way really is the better way.

Question: Would you rather this site's tech forums be a playground or a library?

Strict rules keep alot of the BS out and the information in. I, for one, am thankful for that every time I use the search feature.

"Once you have been a member for 30 days, you've posted a total of 50 posts in the Newbie forum/Problem Diagnosis forum/Tech Articles section, you will be automatically moved from New Member status to Proven Member status. This is where you receive your wings. By this, we mean that you should have had enough time and participation under your belt to know the rules and you've proven yourself as a member. You'll now be able to post in all of the public forums and participate in all public areas of the site, including the Classifieds"

I don't think its necessay to post multiple replies like that. Read up on the rules. You need 50 posts.
