okay ive only taken one head off before, and they were stock studs and i had to u a 10mm allen socket to get em out... now in taking this head off these studs are way different... they fit a 5mm.... and i cant turn em loose, if i apply any more pressure than i have il just end up stripping the stud and my socket... what special tool do i need? none of my normal (non-allen) sockets will fit over the larger base beneath the 5mm allen part of the bolt.... only socket i havent tried is a 16mm ### i dont have one...

Ok, stock ones are head BOLTS. That's what you took off with a 10mm Allen wrench.

What you have now sounds like ARP head STUDS which will have nuts on top. They will take a 14mm 12-point socket if that's the case. They do have a small hex/allen hole on the top to screw them in and out once the head is off.

Those are ARP Studs so take the advise of the second poster. (14mm 12 point socket). Also PM a moderator and have them fix that photo if you can't. It is way too big and will cause people problems when they view this thread.
