I Have A 90 Turbo 2.0 Eclipse Front Wheel Drive And When It Sits And Idles For A While And I Start To Drive Again, It Smokes Like A Mother....it Usually Has To Sit At Idle For At Least A Long Stoplight Or Longer. The Longer It Idles, The Longer It Smokes After I Start Driving Again... Could This Be Anything Other Than Rings? Or Am I Stuck Waiting Till I Get A Chance To Rip Apart The Block And Replace The Rings... Pcv Valve Maybe? I Dunno, Any Help Is Appreciated. Thanks!

First off, please don't capitalize every letter of every word. Second, you should do a compression test and see what numbers you get. If the numbers are low, then put some oil down the spark plug hole and do a compression test again and compare the results from the orgional. You should fill out your vehicle profile when you get a chance aswell.

I had thesame proublem with my 93 lazer nt 2.0 ,didnt smoke unless you were sitting at idle . After a fresh set of rings it did the same thing . I ended up doing valve seals, what a job that was but it worked for me. Maybe that will help you. Dave

if the smoke is blue u are burning oil. i blew the seals on my 14b and my car would smoke at idle and throughout boost. check compression acroos the 4 and see whats up, if not check out the turbo.

White smoke, you are burning antifreeze, if its a bluish colored smoke, like mentioned ^^^, then you are burning oil, hows your antifreeze?? Does your antifreeze level go down, but you see no leaks?? Same with your oil?? Compression test, leakdown test, theres many ways to figure out which one you are burning, and where its leaking into your motor.
