Okay, Im sure this has been talked about thousands of times but I cannot seem to find anything on here. I would like to know what would be the best size injector to choose for a goal of 450 whp? Will 650cc sufice or will I have to move to the 750cc range? Please let me know. I will be adding some parts to my mod list to attain that goal of coarse but I know my 550s will not get me there.

Also is there any difference or recommendations as to which brand to get? I see there are fic and rc on ebay for a great price. please let me know your thoughts

I am currently running a 92 eprom stock ecu with the hopes of getting dsm link before spring. what is the largest the stock ecu can run?

Thank you

frank

The only size the stock ECU can run is the size the car came with, which is 450cc for the 1G 5-speeds. A S-AFC or other "piggy-back" tuning device will work well with 550s, but it might get rough with 650s. A chipped ECU should be able to handle almost any size, as long as you have something to "fine tune" with.

If you're getting DSMLink I would definitely get the 750s, because DSMLink can compensate for up to 1000cc without any problems. As for brand, I would get FIC. No personal experience, but I see some of the fast cars have them so they can't be bad. FIC is a trusted name.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

if you plan on running a FPR you could use the 650cc injectors you would have to change the pressure from 38 to 46 but i would definatly go with the 750cc so you can grow into them ... and also like stated above your gunna need a good tunning device dsmchip and keydriver chips are good companies for eprom chips but the way to go is dsmlink for fine tuning.

In my experience, bigger is always better (to an extent) when it comes to injectors.

You are better off running a lower IDC% and you also have a little room to play with should you choose to get further into the modification process.

A chipped standard computer has no problems compensating for 750cc's so i would go with them for sure.

Ok, well i really would like to go the dsmlink route with the 750cc inj. I am just trying to convince myself that the dsmlink worth the extra money over a safc. I can get my old safc back for $75 and the dsmlink is around $500. I do have a eprom ecu from a 92 but it is not socketed yet. If i get my ecu chipped from one of the two above sources would I need to get different ones to compensate for temperature change, etc... Or does it only modify the injector size?

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate it

Frank

P.s. I am in a great mood. I just learned that this car I bought (my old one I built) was rebuilt with crower rods and ross pistons!!!!! The kid told me he thought they were 91 rods and 95 pistons. This opens new possibilities

It only modifies the injector size. The ECU will continue to make fuel calculations based on temperature, altitude, etc; you won't have to worry about that. All you'll have to do is some fine tuning with the S-AFC for WOT and whatnot.
