2g exhaust manifold on 1g

I tried to fit a 97 eclipse gst exhaust manifold on a 1990 gsx.

these do not line up. I've been told it should bolt right up.

the pattern on the 97 is just a few centimeters off.??

anyone know why this is?

It def. should bolt right up, i've seen it done over and over again. I know that you have to grind a small amout off the side of the ex. mani where the power steering pump is to fit it in. But other than that it shud bolt up. I don't know maybe that is your problem. Here is a link to help you.

sorry bout the dead thread but does the 10mm bolt holes make a difference? do i have to drill and tap the head or will the 8s hold it ok
