I bought a 97 Spyder GST with 105k miles, and the timing belt hasn't been changed since 60k I believe. I havn't gotten all of his paperwork for his services, but I'm guessing that's all the major service work done to it.

So, Screeching belts under WOT and when boost is kicking in == belt wear? Not sure which belt, but I'll probably take it to Mitsu. Also they know to check the condition of the water pump, and other things that need to replaced? Anything else to look out for?

And should I also have them do a boost leak test, because I see many posts on that.
This is my first turbo car and my first DSM.

I keep thinking of new things, Sorry. I'm not sure if this is because I own a Spyder, but the car shakes slightly under idle ever couple to a few seconds.
Thanks.

The screeching you are referring to is usually cause by a loose belt, if you check the tension in your belts you might find that one of them is alittle loose, and can move alot up and down. The sound is caused by a pully spinning(spins faster as you give it more gas) and since it isn't as tight as it should be, that pulley spins but the belt slips on it causing that sound. That can cause wear to a belt.

Three and a half ticks above 0 is where it usually idles.. I think. Also what is a harmonic balancer?

And are everyone's headlights at night supposed to blind me so badly?
