I was wondering if a 1G eprom ecu for a turbo will work in my car it is currently a n/t but the head was from a turbo. Any Ideas??

Not correct, The 1G AT has smaller injectors and turbo so there are sigificant differences in the code that impact how the engine runs. The PCBs used are common but it's what goes on the board than makes the difference.griff said:First off, it doesn't matter if the ecu is from a 5spd or auto. All ecu's are the same for auto and 5spd.
Correct, the TCU is a seperate computer to control the trans.griff said:Auto's have a tcu in them for their tranny.
The big question is why?. It doesn't just plug in and work 100%.griff said:I do know that you can use a n/t ecu in a turbo, but never heard anyone try a turbo ecu in a n/t, i would suspect that you can.
griff said:The difference with the n/t ecu's is that it has no output for the stock boost guage, and no recognition for knock. I would say yes you can use it, but if you want to wait for someone to tell you for sure, then that's all good.

The NT wiring harness doesn't have pins on the connector for the boost gauge, knock sensor, FP solenoid, BCS, ABS, or MAF Reset and a NT ECU doesn't use them. The NT ECU doesn't have IC104 or IC106 (no FP solenoid, BCS, or MAF reset)and some of the pins are retasked on a NT ECU. It looks like pin 105 is used to switch the O2 Sensor heater on a NT and that's the BCS on a Turbo ECU.
Putting a Turbo ECU in NT car will cause throw a CEL for the missing Knock Sensor and pull timing all the way back. The O2 Sensor heater won't work like it should, the fuel will be really lean since the ECU expects 450cc injectors instead of the NT's 240cc and basiclly run poorly.
I've put NT 2.0L ECU's in the car for testing but I have to do really non-optimal things to the SAFC to get them to idle and I wouldn't even back out of the driveway without a the ECU having knock sensor support.
In general I can't understand any reason for putting a turbo ECU in a NT car and if you did the car would run poorly until you blew it up from not enough fuel.

and btw.....does anyone know where I can get a N/T ecu?
