going to replace my bov gasket and valve cover gasket. the guy at pep boys said this instant gasket stuff is actualy better then a normal gasket and is more covient becasue it can be used for anything that fuel doesnt run through. this stuff sounds a little to good to be tru, anyone have experence with it? i just cant see getting a usable gasket out of a toothpaste tube....

Just get the right gaskets for the job, the "toothpaste tube" stuff is useful for some things but not for replacing preformed gaskets that are easily aquired.

One other thing to think about is that the tube stuff acts kinda like a rubbery glue. If you have to remove you valve cover to clean your lifters or any other internal head work you will have to reclean and reapply the stuff every time. It works great on things you will not need to touch untill it needs replacing, but not on things that are in need of access on occasions. It is soundadvice though to just use the proper gaskets... but if cost beats the use than y not... just be smart about it.
