hey guys i have a 94 1.8 eclipse rs with a turbo i did all custom exhaust and intake work,i have the td05 turbo on it with the 2.0 turbo injectors ,cold air intake, and i think thats it for add on parts , but i bored my engine out .50 over and shaved the head a little bit .. u guys know any other things i could do to get some more juice outta this thing? undefined

Can we get some pictures of this beast?

As far as I know, this is like the second 1.8t in the world or something. Some people say they have one (but dont) or say things like "Im working on it" or "I plan on turboing it" or "I know some guy with one"

Ive only seen pictures of one, the orange one from Hawaii

Not doubting, just curious :D

by the way...is this car up and running? I find it hard to believe that a 1.8 could be turboed without a piggy-back fuel management system or at least a AFPR or re-wired fuel pump. How much boost are you currently pushing? What is the compression ratio? Did you double up the head gaskets? You fabricated an exhaust manifold? SMIC or FMIC?

need a little more information on this

OMG yes its running are you crazy LOL max it pushes is 7 psi for some reason and im doing exaust soon buit dunno when .. what i did was i made little pieces of metal for mounting and i mouted where the heat shield is supposed to go i somehow ghetto rigged it ontot there LOL its nice tho then the headers go down to the down pipe and the downpipe is cut rite where it merges into one pipe then welded some pipe to that made a 180 degree angle ( smooth bend of coursse) came rite back up to feed the turbo . then made like a 3 foot piece of pipe to bolt where the downpipe was supposed to bolt .. and as far as intake i took the stock intercooler off of a awd 2.0 turbo talon ( it was junked otherwise id be driving that) and stuck it in there ran some custom piping straight down to the ground for the turbo intake then ran through intercooler to engine confusing but its done .. o and ill be putting some pictures on here soon better believe it LOL ( all turbo parts and everything i got was off that talon) ;) :dsm:

umm no piggy back i used the 2.0 turbo injectors they seem to be working fine umm not sure what compression is but its higher then normal i went high compression instead of low jus to experiment shaved the head a little bit not much then bored out .50 over jus one gasket ..stock headers

here it is like a year ago jus had these lieng around ill get some of the motor soon

wait... turbo... thatts believable but with a shaved head... im surprised that ur engine isnt blowing it self apart its compression must be insane

LOL, i did doubt it, but you've made me a believer....congradulations!

but Fusion is right, the FAQ on dsmtalk.com said to use 2 head gaskets, you have one with a shaved head......my suggestion is to do something about that pronto!

i cant wait to see the engine pics, like I said, you're prolly the 2nd succesfully turboed 1.8 in the country.....

LOL, im drunk and amazed!! post pics ASAP!! its time the 1.8 got some love :D

wait a sec....stock headers? you cut up the 1.8 header to accept a turbo?

I gotta see this Sh1t

The one from hawaii is yellow. And its pretty fast. Rode in it myself. :dsm:

Congrats on the 1.8 turbo. Saw what my friend went thru and it wasn't a walk in the park. :thumb:

yup got enough wing i think LOL yea stock headers and its a 93 eclipse the shaved head thing LOL it seems to help because i had it on another motor i had with 223k miles LOL and it was stock everything ,, it smoked so bad , it was crazy the bushings in teh turbo are bad plus it smoked before so it made it worse , i still have that bad turbo tho im lookin to replace if you guys wanna hook me up LOL but it seems to have more power on this motor then the other gotta go later guys

brian :dsm:

i dont have a camera i borrowed my friends so i gotta get some shots of it when he gets his happy self over here soo were waiting on those .. but im lookin for a td05 turbo or one that bolts up the same lemme know if u can hook me up

theres no point of gettin a bigger turbo unless you get some internal work done.

to get a bigger turbo in ur gona need to superstrengthen ur head gasket and maybe use stronger engine block bolts becasue the conpression is just gona blow ur engine apart, my dad had a friend with an IROC he had turbo on it actually twin i think, im not sure but I know that he had shaved heads and one day at the track the engine blew it self apart.
But good luck with ur turbo, post some detailed info id like to put turbo on my 1.8L

He only needs a new head gasket if he plans on detonating. Also, why is everyone so worried about his compression? A shaved head usually means just a little clean up of the surface. It probably raises the ratio like .1 or .2:1. Plenty of people run tons of boost with way more compression than that with no problems.

Also, how did you get a turbo to bolt up to

?

the turbo i have on there was a td05 and thats what im looking for becuase the one i have is bad , im not looking for a bigger turbo , jus need sometghing that doesnt smoke or leak oil.the turbo i have is leaking oil in the intake and the exhaust of the turbo so oils going everywhere and im looking to replace it. so if you guys have a turbo laying around even smaller if u got one , jus need to be the same bolt up pattern ( i dont feel like making another kit LOL) then jus lemme know maybe we can work something out . alrite guys im out later.
