Intake or exhaust?

I searched but didn't find alot to help. Maybe I just suck at searching. . . Anyways. I'm curious what would get me better gains in hp torque(sp?)? As of right now I have a K&N air filter, hacked air can and BCS restrictor thingy removed for intake mods. I also have not cat w/ stock muffler. This is what I would get .

Intake; hard intake pipe, upper IC pipe, 2" buschur turbine outlet pipe and custom 2.25" lower IC pipe.

Exhaust; full RnR 02 eliminating 2.5 turbo back exhaust.

I know exhaust would help in spool time. But it would cost more then all the intake mods. And would it give me the best hp and torque gains? I guess what I'm asking is, what would my butt dyno feel more? Intake mods or exhaust mods? I plan on doing all of them sometime. Just not right now. Help, please!

I would say save the more money and buy the exhaust since you will eventually have to get it anyways if you plan on making hp with your car. Yes it si more expensive but I find it eaiser to save my money and buy the expensive things first and then through on the little things as I get money. As far as hp from each I haven't a clue so I will not take a guess at that.

Plus the sound of exhaust is much better then.

Actually maybe save EVEN more and go with a 3'' and an external O2 dump...no boost creep and fast spool up time! Plus most 3'' exhausts sound so sweet, I'd go with that. But a 3'' catback would certainly be a start, and add a 3'' high-flo cat or test pipe and 3'' DP when your ready.

I wasnt thoroughly impressed after my full 2.5" turboback exhaust install. i obviously got gains, but not what i expected.

My dejontool intake made more of a spoolup time difference than anything else.

I started with a 3" catback but didn't really notice much difference until I got the injen intake. When I got my downpipe was when I really noticed it. Also I've noticed other people say they got the intake and didn't notice much until they got the exhaust. I'd say get the more expensive parts first but don't plan on noticing a huge performance increase until you get both.

The way I understand intake and exhaust, your question is analogious to "which straw will flow the most Slurpee (trademarked, please don't sue me), one with a large top or bottom?" The answer is neither, you really need to improve both ends before you get full potential.

Thanks for the replies guys! You have all made a good point. Nutshot, good example. Never thought of it that way before. Starting with a cat back would work. But wouldn't it neck down to bolt upto the stock cat? And if I do get a down pipe it would have to be one with a o2 dump or o2 elminator. (I'm not to fond of an o2 dump though. I had one on my car with stock exhaust. I don't want to draw more attention to myself then I already will be with a loud exhaust.) That way the dp wont neck down to meet upto the o2 housing like most if you run a cast o2 housing. I'll have to think about this some more I guess. Again thanks for all the replies. I think all that could be said has been said. But if anyone has anything to add please do.

Dude rnr has sale right now that i'm about to take advantage of, 3" turbo-back o2 elminator (SAME EXACT PRICE AS 2.5" TURBOBACK) with optional internal or external dump tube = 599$

Its a really good idea to free up ## exhaust before anything, not only will it look and sound really good, but stock exhausts are a lot more constrictive than stock intake systems. Thats just my opinion
