Helecoils for exhaust mani studs

3 or more of the threads on my head where the exhaust manifold studs go are stripped out bad. I did a search and read something about helecoils. What are they and where can I get them? I have a massive exhaust leak due to 3 studs not being there and it sounds like ass. Also what size do I need?

Helicoils are just coils made of diamond-section wire. They go between where the threads are supposed to be, and the new threads you cut for the coils.

Hey man, whaddup. Helicoils I know are available at Napa auto parts. Mike had to helecoil the oil feed line bolt on the head because it was leaking. I think he said it cost $60 for the kit which came with like 5 little sections. Not sure though... Have fun drilling out those holes and tapping them.
