Chicagoland Junk Yards

Say you are a DSMer. You need a part, and dont want to pay full price... so you head to the junk yard to go searching. My question is. Have you found a junk yard in chicago that has more 1g-1gs than the others?

I don't know of any that have more then the other. The U-Pull-It (Near North Ave & Kostner) had a few of them but parts left those things fast. They did have quite a few 2gs. I went other there about 2-3weeks ago looking for a ECU. Sometimes if you call they will give you the heads up on cars that just came in

Yeah, you pull it has alot of stuff but you have to be there at the right time.. the good parts go fast.

Elgin Super is a decent if you have the money. They seem to hold themselves to a higher standard, and the price reflects just that. However, they ussually have anything you need.

Most junkyards in Chicago area are scavanged, the quicker and more often u go the more chances you will get of finding something decent, but G/L because all the good stuff disappears fast.

thanks for the good info as well. i'm looking for a 97-98-99 oem front bumper and headlights. definitely will check out the junk yards. maybe i will get lucky.

im right by u-pull-it and i go there more than needed, last time i checked they had 4 1g's and 1 2g. if you ever want me to look for something for you just pm me and i can get it and u can get it from me and i will keep the reciept for you....there is also 2 more junkyard over by u-pull-it that are pretty good too......i will get the names and addresses

Victory Junkyard in Bensenville had alot of 1g's and 2g's last time i looked. This was back in mid November when the weather was getting cold, and I didn't feel like standing out there taking off the parts.
