Hey all, i need suggestions for a good mechanic shop to swap my turbos....its just from stock T25 to stock T25 so its not too involved...i just dont have the tools to do it myself. I already have the gaskets and the turbo and such.

Any recommendations?

i work at a shop up in towson on joppa road, give me until tomorrow and i can check it out and see what they want to do it, or if they want something crazy i can work something with you to do it on the side maybe, have to see if i can work it in the schedule

Awesome...i live right off Charles street by the 695-83 circle...Which shop do you work at? Im okay with paying any reasonable amount...i just want my car running right again

I bought a Dejon Tool 3inch intake...the T25 has a 2inch inlet so the intake came with 3 silicone sleeves...
one 3"x3" (diameter x width)
one 2.5"x1"
one 2"x1"

The theory being you put the 2" on the turbo and then the 2.5" on the 2" and then you put the 3" over both the turbo and the intake..........well the 2" came loose and got sucked into the turbo and bent the fins all up and theres some shaftplay. So i bought a used t25 and the gaskets and such and i just need it swapped in.

I already took the intake, intercooler, intercooler piping, BOV all off and cleaned them free of rubber/silicone pieces that were from the cut up hose.

I thought i could do it all myself but i dont have the tools to get the turbo off....i broke a socket and a socket wrench trying to get it free.....i have no air compressor.

If you need help I would be willing to help I will be commuting to towson daily I live in Owings Mills right off 795 and have multiple gsx's n Tsi's all with built motors and a galore of tools.. let me know i would love to do this swap for you if you would like or meet up sometime to talk.
Jeremy

Yea i would love to meet more local guys...Where or who does it doesnt matter to me as long as its done RIGHT and carefully.

To the OP, I don't know if you got your swap taken care of yet but there is also a place called LaScuola Motorworks on Liberty Road in Randallstown. I know a guy who works there (was my friends neighbor) and he's owned many dsm's including a pretty sick GVR4 so he knows these cars very well.

got it taken care of already but thanks guys. I went to JE Performance out in whitemarsh. They did a decent job...one of the bushings for the steering rack is messed up though....I had them put in a new inner tie rod. But i think i can take care of that...but as far as the turbo stuff...they did great.

JE is terrible, i know so many cars that got messed up there. you got lucky

I've been working in Owings Mills for the past 5 or 6 months now and keep wanting to stop over at LaScuola and check the place out. As I said, I've known Ray for quite a few years and with all the dsm's he's owned I know he knows his stuff.
