I am going to be replacing my tranny, head gasket, head studs, timing belt, and some other stuff i am looking for some help, I have done it all but another hand always helps I live in Salisbury MD its about 30 min due west of ocean city, I am willing to pay for the help btw Pm me if drinking some beers and turning some wrenches is your idea of a good time. please at least half way know what your doing. :thumb: thanks in advance

Hey man I would definately be down to lend a hand. As of right now my ride is sittin on jacks for a tranny and clutch. I am also looking for a good sameritan to help out but I can handle it on my own. Good luck with your work.

Well changing up a tranny on a fwd is a breeze, but the awd tranny takes some time.I mean i am willing to help you with everything else,it would probably be easier to pull the motor with the tranny that i would not mind. What kind of tools do you have?

hey I have a giant tool box full of tools everything from tuning forks to bearing pullers. I also have an engine hoist, and drive up ramps. I am ready to start pulling this thing apart some time here after the 4th weekend. :hellyeah: I cant wait, hopfully I get one of my dsm brothers to slide on into groove city to lend a hand. The only special tool I dont have is the one to tension the tensioner pulley, but i am trying to go and get one this week. I had all the special tools but they got stolen out of my gvr4 :notgood: losers.

i just installed one last week. if you have an engine hoist you can use it to raise and hold the trans. i put a chain around the shifter cable brackets. it sure is nice not to have to hold all of the weight while trying to align it.

Yeah, The hoist makes the job soo gosh darn easy. My first four dsm's tool kit was comprised of one 6mm-24mm wrench set, 6-22 mm socket set, big ol hammer, ball joint sep tool. and some random plier's LOL. I managed to do just about everything including engine and tranny swap's with just jack's. Boy oh boy:banghead: I feel stupid for doing all that. Who knew 2900 bucks and a call to Snap-On can make life so much easier.:thumb: engine hoist for life LOL. Like I said i can do it all by myself as I have done for year's but having a hand it always money in the bank. Oh and there is a kid in my development with a beautiful and super sick EVO VIII, I have been trying to catch him and see if he wants to help. I always hear him sputtering hard down the street from his juicy cam set. I wonder if he did the work himself . I have learned the thing about these car's is that they are easy to work with as long as you take you time and do it with the right tool's.
