Supra I/C install on 1g

Hey all,

I've got a few questions about this topic. I've read the vfaq on it and it didn't answer them so here goes. As stated, I am swapping a supra SMIC into my 1g, but it isn't as easy as I had hoped. The endtanks had already been flipped, so that isn't the problem. My problems concern the hole from the I/C to the UICP. I cannot get the Supra outlet tube to line up with the hole without doing some major cutting. It just seems like the I/C is too big for the space that is there. Is there a better way to do this, or is major cutting and fabrication required to make this work? Thanks in advance.

I did this mod a few months ago, I had to enlarge the hole for the upper intercooler pipe. It doesn't fit very well. Looks real ghetto, but I have run as much as 24psi on 92 octane with no knock. So in summary it works very good but isn't a very good fit.

ive read that people have to cut a hole for the UICP, and that the Dejontool pipes are next to useless. becuase they dont fit very well. also i think this was 2g, but they had to trim the bumper. overall everyone says its a lot of work, holds alot of psi easily, but is alot of work.

Yeah, that's what I figured, good gains but a heck of an install.

Hey all,

I cannot get the Supra outlet tube to line up with the hole without doing some major cutting. It just seems like the I/C is too big for the space that is there.

-1st photo highlited the hole I cutted with Rotozip, much easier to turn then a hack saw, and the metal is thin anyway. I had to extended the UIP a few inches to reach the outlet.
-2nd photo is those clamps keep getting knock off by wheel block or curb, I have to cut off the tow hook to fit the pipe there.
-Try not the UIP get too close to the pop-up arm of the head lamp or it'll knock the arm off when the motor move.
