Hey guys I am new here and I current owner of a 2002 Lexus IS300. I am going to look at a 1998 Eclipse GSX soon and I was just curious as to what problems usually occur on these cars. What should I look for when I go check it out? Anything specific?
Thanks,
Derek
By the way, my IS300 is for sale if anyone is interested just let me know and I will give you full details and pictures.
I would post a add for your lexus, and with any cars so many things break, belts, hoses, engine, clutch, wires, anything is good to look at when it comes to these cars.
like the previous poster said it's kinda luck when you buy a dsm I have found so many elictrical issues with my car its rediclious. But you should do a basic test just like any car
Compression test the cylinders
pressure test the coolant system
check the spark plugs for uneven combustion
if its a 5 speed press the clutch in and have a buddy look at the crank pully there should be no play...
