Sorry for yet another no spark thread but I could not find my answer searching, I'm sure it will end up being something simple.

Profile up to date six bolt swap but with 2g front cover so still using 2g crank angle sensor.

I rebuilt the engine and tranny and I am now trying to start it. Only major change is the addition of an EVO intake.

Compression is 150 on all four.

I am firing only on cylinder 1 & 2. This just doesn't make sense to me, one plug from each coil pack is firing. The timing belt was installed on the engine stand, no balance shafts. The cam sensor was installed the same way it came out but I have not installed it 180 out to see if that will help.

Any other suggestions?

I am using the following wiring diagram for eprom ecu.

I knew this would end up being something that I missed....

The EVO 3 intake manifold came with the coil mounting bracket. That bracket is flipped 180 degrees from the stock 2g mounting bracket, however I used the above diagram to wire the plugs. I flipped the wires 180 degrees and it started up. So now looking at the coil the wiring is 4 1 2 3 or the same as stock 2g.
if you have it hooked up like in the diagram, and you are getting spark on 1+2, the only thing that would make sense is if the spark plug wires for 3 + 4 were bad...you didnt say, did you try a different set of plug wires and/or switching the plugs around on the coils to troubleshoot a possible bad wire(s)

Good suggestion - no I had not tried that.

I just swapped the good plug wire combos to the bad cylinders - same thing. The plugs that come out of 3 & 4 are wet, 1 & 2 are dry from firing. So my guess is not plug or wires.

Here is an off the wall question. I had the evo coil pack mount but not the transistor iat mount so I made one. Cut it from steel and welded corners then painted it. The transistor is mounted to painted surface, would that make a difference?

I have 2 1g cas I've tried. 3 coil packs, 3 transistor boxes, 2 95 e-prom ecus, different plugs, different wires, and I've swapped the cas out of phase, i've swapped the plug wires 4123 3214, I've got it to start in all positions and stall out immediately.

I believe because I'm only receiving one side of the coils spark. However, I can change the coil side which fires and it will send spark and ignite the fuel sitting in the cylinders which had been previously getting tons of fuel and no spark.

So if the cas was out of phase, or if there was an issue regarding base timing my question is.

Will the car fire out of order, or only fire on one side of the coil pack?

My personal instance is resulting in only one side sparking (I'm getting spark on 1-4)

It seems like a lot of people are in some situations with no starts at this point. The " How to diagnose a no-start" gets you through the basics. However, there are many more random issues like the temp sensor, isc, etc. That can be additional hang-ups in the no start category.

how are you diagnosing if you have spark? my recomendation is taking out all 4 spark plugs. connect them to the plug wires, and ground the plugs to the valve cover. then have someone crank the car and you'll see what plugs have spark.
