Resolved Oil return? Oil feed? Whats this gulley for?

So if you look at the engine head from the front of the car. Look at the middle bottom stud. Behind it looks as if there is a gully of some sort that oil either is returned or fed.

We installed new studs today and drilled all the way through the hole into that gully. If this is a oil return no biggy, if its pressurized we may have a problem

no its not pressurized, its just the valley were the oil flows back to the bottom.
