First, I apologize for forgetting your name; hence the "blasted" message. I only recall that it was Scandanavian. (Given what I did in the 1970s, that probably means that your name is actually French. :) )

I really miss the car and would like to know how it is doing. If you bought the car that you see in my Avatar, then please contact me (unless, of course, you totaled it; in that case, leave me in my blissful ignorance).

Thanks.

Ah. Excellent point.

If this thread makes no sense to you, then it probably isn't meant for you.

If it helps to decide this matter, you need to have lived in Wisconsin at some point. At least, I think that's where Cinder moved to when I sold her.

I would never sell my wife or one of my children to a Viking. What do you take me for? Oh, and I can't stand dogs; a dog, I would give away and wouldn't try to locate it several years later.

edit: With that said, I have a 11-year-old blue-eye blonde girl and a 7-year-old dark-haired boy who is an expert at all forms of video games. Make an offer. My wife and I could make a replacement.

Hey, bud. I haven't seen you in years. I hope you're doing well!

Doing very well, thanks. Hope the same for you.

I sold Cinder a few years ago and took a break from (the nonsense of) internet forums. But got very tired of a Subaru Legacy daily driver and finally got an Evo X a bit less than a year ago and returned to the web as I had a whole new system to learn about. I have switched to rallycross from autocross.

This is exactly the reason why I say stuff like don't do it because you'll regret it when guys say their getting out of the DSM game. I hate it when guys "give up" or sell or part out their cars, I just don't get it. I could NEVER bring myself to sell any of my cars. I've had them almost 10 years now and never once thought about selling them. Hopefully you get it back and learn your lesson not to let her go again.

I would like to keep mine and put it in storage for now.. but I just don't want to spend the extra money at this point in time. I don't have anywhere to put it (registered with DMV as NON-OP) and I don't have the time or facilities anymore to properly maintain it.

It basically oxidized the entire time I was serving.. Which is sad. I need to find a cheap place to cover it up and keep it, so maybe some day down the road I can tinker with it some more (when I have an actual real job again.. finally starting college next week!)

These things stay in your blood, even if you haven't driven one around town in four years..

I miss the car, but i dont know if I regret selling it. I had lots of money into it, and without selling it, I wouldnt of had the funds to move onto bigger things.

So what happened to it?

I tried selling the car complete with all mods, but not a single bite. It doesnt help when the suspension and brakes alone are worth more than the car in stock form. I sadly had to part it out.

That car was a great chapter in my automotive life. I probably learned more with that car than any other car I've owned.

I'm not 100% out of the DSM stuff. I do own a 92 Galant #5/1000. But its more of a beater rallyX car and I dont drive it much (if any).

I also know one of the old owners of it. It was never put back together when he had it he ended up trading it for a 1g roller and a bunch of parts that was the last I heard of it.

Wow! Thanks, Andy, for posting all the pictures and videos. While it hurt a bit, as I really miss the car, I'm so glad that you had fun with her before she moved on. The picture of you getting a bit loose is the best. In her final form, she was a blast too drive, although it wouldn't surprise me one bit is she was scary at real speeds, instead of autocross speeds.

How much can said kids lift, what kinda hours they put in and are they capable of caring for themselves if i give them a shed to live in? also, either one good with a awrench or know plumbing and drywall? I have some slum apartments, looking to buy maintenence workers to store on site :D

I cant wait to see how this turns out. I'm hoping some dumb@$$ kids haven't beat the crap out of it.

Oh man, we couldn't let a fellow respected board member see something like that happen. WE'd have to grab the poor kid up, keep him under lock and key and force him through slave labor to restor it to the condition it was sold in and i am pretty sure jtmcinder's bosses/job would not be happy/agree with that process LOL
