Has anyone else bought the new Avenged Sevenfold album yet? I had the priviledge of not only buying thier new album the day it came out, but also got to see them perform live that day also at the Mayhem fest. The new album is AMAZING! A good mix of different styles. Some soft music about thier late drummer passing away which is pretty sad, along with some really great songs such as "Nightmare", "Buried Alive", "Welcome to the Family", "Tonight the World dies", etc and a real heavy song called "God hates us" which is really reminisant of thier older stuff. If you are into this type of music I highly suggest you go get the album, you won't be dissipointed. Right now only $9.99 at Best Buy.

You must be that guy who likes the screamo shit and is upset A7X doesn't do that anymore. ROFL

I have followed dream theater since 89-90, and am excited to see portnoy in a straight metal band. His drum tracks on the a7x album are great. It's easy to tell the difference between the stuff sullivan wrote, and portnoy's tracks.

Mike Portnoy drums for A7X now? Out of all the sick bands he could have been in he chose A7X.. Well props to that then, I can't bag on Portnoy because he was an inspiration to me growing up and drumming until a lot of better metal drummers came along like Hector "Lech" de Santiago of As Blood Runs Black etc

Not "in" the band. He is just drumming for the album, and tour. Still in dream theater, and 10,000 other side projects.

The new A7X wasn't bad. I, too, liked them heavier, but that may just be my personal taste. I was much happier with Soilwork's new album "The Panic Broadcast" than I was with A7X's newest.

I'm guessing you don't know the difference in Genre's judging by your ignorant post. A7X never was "screamo", they were heavier.
You call a band ### for no reason and then want to preach about ignorance? Go figure. :hmm:

Well then now you know why I gave you the response I did.
So you come into the thread to say Avenged Sevenfold is ### and then don't want to give your reasoning because you do not need anyones approval..

Thanks for your contribution to this thread. I don't know what we would have done without it. :ohdamn:

I never said I liked A7X, I said its cool a good drummer did drumming for them. A7X still blows, they're sellouts that wear make-up. I guess that is cool if your a tranny and your into that kind of thing.

I have heard it and yes, I love it! But A7X has always been my favorite band. I saw them and Nashville and they were awesome, but i must say hardcore isnt the same as when i was younger.

They aren't sellouts.. They are the greatest band out there right now. You are entitled to your own opinion, but your claims are far out there dude. Just because you don't like them it doesn't mean they are "###". They ARE the most talented rock band..From vocals, guitarist skill, bass, and yes even drums with Portnoy. Thier music is awesome.

Awesome enough to knock Eminems "Relapse" album from the #1 Billboard spot. That just doesn't happen this day in age. Period. A day in age where Rap/Pop reigns king.
Yes, they overcame the odds that were stacked against them. Lost thier drummer and best friend and still got the job done for thier fans, continued making music and chart topping music at that. Say what you want but it holds no truth. The proof is in the pudding.

Love Afterlife. People usually don't listen to anything but the singles, see the guys wearing makeup in the couple of music videos they had, and are so quick to pass judgement based on only that. Who doesn't wear makeup in music videos? It's not like they wear makeup, otherwise. :nono:
Their albums are so deep and filled with bad ass songs far beyond "Almost Easy", "Bat Country", "Nightmare", etc. Those songs aren't shit compared to some of the lesser known songs IMO: Brompton Cocktail, Afterlife, Scream, Critical Acclaim, Trashed & Scattered, God hates us, Victim. etc.

If you like the Nightmare single definitely go get the new album. You may listen to every song once and go "meh" (like I did), but as you continue to listen to them a few times again you will love them. The same is true for any song really. It always takes a few listens to get a feel for a song. The new album is good from top to bottom and full of emotion with songs about jimmy.

Just because a band doesn't replicate the sound of their first album doesn't make them sell outs. Every band changes over time to some extent, some just more than others. As for your previous posts I find it very ironic that you called the OP ignorant:banghead:
