Rebuild or Start Fresh?

So heres the deal. I Have a 90 talon awd bone stock that recently threw a timing belt. Needs new valves and pistons. Also needs new exhaust manifold, turbo, tranny, and clutch. Motor has 160k on it. Body is rust free and only has one dent. Was considering rebuilding but was debating on selling my Civic and the talon (as is) and buying another DSM with lower miles and already lightly modded. Was gonna sell the talon and boost the Honda but I don't think it will give me the same satisfaction as a DSM. Just wondering ### you guys think?

I would reccomend pricing everything you want done to the talon and sell the civic, if its enough to get the talon running proper do it and most defintly do it if you have extra money to play with

If you're looking for a bargain fix, look for lightly used parts. I'd keep the dsm and rebuild it.

I think I am gonna rebuild. Found a site called thedsmgraveyard.com that has everything I need. Has anyone ever bought used parts off this site before?

Never bought parts off of the site before, but I have been by their shop a few times. Jon the owner is a good guy to deal with but I'm not real fond of his sales staff. They've always come across as a little condensending IMO.

I would call with what you need the web site isn't always up to date. I've had better luck calling between 12 and 5 ish.

thanks for the info, i am gonna call about used pistons and valves and possibly a 2g exhaust manifold and prbly get a evoIII turbo
