well, i have owned about 50 of them. both 1g and 2g, front wheel drive and all wheel drive. turbo and non turbo.
so i finally sold my 95 gsx that i converted to 2gb with full black leather, and all the other good stuff. i swore up and down that i would not buy another, and get myself and family out of debt. so i sold the car for 4,200, and paid off all debts. well just a few days ago, i was reading craigslist and stumbled across a 1995 gsx that was ridiciously cheap. so i call the guy and i asked him why he hasn't sold the car yet. so he tells me that he cannot sell it to just anyone, cause of all the problems that it has.
well he tells me the list of problems.,......
horrible clear coat peeling on the roof
front seats are ripped up
a problem with the new clutch
. so i figured that this car was a turd. but hey, for the price i was told, he would even drive it to meet me ( 400 mile trip). so how bad could this car really be??????????
so i decide to buy it site - unseen for the sum of 1,293.00 yes, that was about all i could come up with after cashing in all my change, and borrowing 1,200 from the devil (LOL). so he drove the car 3/4 of the way, and i drove it home.........................
what a amazing running, driving and handling 14 year old car! i drove it home with not a single problem. boost great, stops on a dime, and runs great. what else could i ask for?
well, now i have had the car for almost a week, and swore that i would not touch it . LOL i could not resist.....
so here are some pics of shaving off the old low rise wing. i have not drilled the holes for the high rise wing yet, cause i want to get the car painted first and see what it looks like with out the wing at all.
i know the first thing to do to a dsm is maintanece, but i got no receipts for all the work that he said was done to it, but i pulled the trans out and replaced the shift fork, which was not letting the clutch disengage all the way. i seen that it had a brand new oem clutch, but i opted to put in a act 2100 while it was apart.
so as for all the other work that he said was done, i can confirm 90%, and he gave me tons of pics of the car with the engine out at his house, and it all being stripped apart.
oh, did i mention that this car has 188,xxx miles on it , with 150-158 across the board?

here are a few more

what a steal. I too saw that car on craigslist. Good luck with your car and further build.

:thumb: yea he had it listed for like 2,500.00 . but he was afraid of someone buying the car and comming back to him down the road with complaints. but when i reassured him that i have had so many of them, then he was a little more relaxed

i still miss my white one though:cry:

Leave the wing off man. 2gb Eclipse + shaved wing + slammed to the ground = teh hawtness.

yea, i don't know. i am not too big of a wingless fan. plus, i already have the high rise waiting, thanks to pj91gsx (austin :thumb:)

I think 2gas look terrible wingless and IMO wingless 2gbs are novel the first few times you see them but are not any sort of real improvement. I briefly considered whether my spyder should be wingless but decided the body would be too tunnel shaped with the top down and just plain ugly with the top up.

Great deal man and good decision on retaking a DSM.

I have been contemplating on getting an Infiniti G35 coupe and turbo charge it. I even enlist on the G35 board ... but there more I look at my 2g I see no reason to part with it. The look, the performance, the familiarity, and all the struggles I have had with it in the past 10 years have made it impossible for me to divorce this car.

I will just upgrade and continue having fun along the way.

well, update........ i havent been on lately, had a computer problem, but here are some pics of the progress of the car since i did all the bodywork for the wing swap. also got it painted, and did some detail work in and out of the car. just picked up a set of 17 inch icws' that i paid 75.0 for, so i think they will look good on the car. i actualyy want to trade them for a set of stock 99 gsx rims, but can't find any.
i'll post more pics later of the car, but here are a few to see

Damn sum guys have all the luck finding great deals LOL.... down here i've been trying to find a gsx for a long time.... but no luck.... well actually i have but they want an arm and a leg for them LOL.... by the way car looks great :thumb:

the average price around here for a half-decent one is about 4,500 - 5,000..
and of course, i just listed it for sale:aha:

i hate craigslist, always when you think you dont need to buy something and your life is back on track, in comes a craigslist ad to #### it all up.
