oh cool an evo!

there was a 99 3kgt vr4 that popped up at a dealer by me with like 6k miles. they wanted 48 grand for it. the guy partially traded it on on an outlander.

haha an evoROFL and jesus a 3kgt for $48,000 and only partially traded for an outlander christ thats an expensive outlander LOL

a few years back i found a tsi awd with only 8000 miles on it. guess the guys wife drove it but got sick so they never drove it. it was going for cheap, around $5000. i should have jumped on the car. :(

wonder if that top leaks haha. mine started at 18k miles.

Spyders with 100,000 miles and unknown amounts of abuse sell for $5k easily and quickly. Is it that much of a stretch to think that a NEW one would sell for $10k more? This is significantly less than these cars sold for new in the late 90s and that is before you consider inflation.

Since this is a new car I wonder if it comes with a warranty.

Headlights and reverse lamps look pretty worn and faded somewhat for a car of that mileage.

First off, unless you have the cash no bank will give you anywhere close to that much for that car. They consider it used, because as soon as you sign the paperwork it is used.... I think some of you think these cars are something that they are not. Although I love them I am no naive as to what they are.

The ad is gone so I couldn't double check but I'm pretty sure the car had never been sold and therefore was a new unit. $18,000 for a convertible in beautiful condition with 2000 miles on it isn't a bad price, it is actually competitive with convertibles in the new car market.

As for the bank, who buys a fun car with a loan? I could see it if you really needed a car for daily transportation and you weren't mechanically inclined enough to fix the problems of a beater or if reliable transportation was paramount but car loans in general are just poor financial practice.

..... Wow, so you think that this thing is "NEW"? It's over 10 years old.... And I'm sure that 99.5% of the people on this site have no where close to pay 18k for a car with cash..... And if you took a poll that asked something like, "What would you buy with 18K cash?", this car would be almost last on the list. If you doubt it, take the poll.

It would be more like;
I'd take the 18k and put a down payment on a twin turbo supra, or evo, or rx-7 :D. You get my point.

Not to mention, just because it has low might and might be considered "new", tell that to the fluids and belts and so on.

You must be blind to italics. There is new which is generally produced recently and not used and then there is new which is a vehicles that has never been owned by an end consumer. This car is new.

I never said that I would buy the car for 18k but I'm not at all surprised at the price and I don't think it is unreasonable.

He's right about that, I bought a "Fun" car with a personal loan... I no longer own that car (sold it) needed too much work and I'm still paying the the damn loan. So bottom line.. I have a loan and nothing to show for it :(

LOL, I have to say, your comment was just dumb..... Even with your new / new definition it makes zero sense. And most guys buy project cars with a loan... Me personally would rather have my cash free for other things.

And as for your second comment about this price not being unreasonable... Think about what you just said, ITS A FAIR PRICE, BUT I'D NEVER PAY IT... Oh and this car isn't new at all, I'd say it would need a timing job right off the bat. Exactly how long will that rubber timing belt last just sitting? Would you take the risk? Exactly.

Oh, and I see you drive a conv. gst, is that why you're blind?

phunny 1 the mork 0 hahaha i agree its awsome to see one in such low millage but some stuff would need to be changed out i would do all the belts and the timing components and some other little stuff

i would also NEVER pay that much for a gst even with the low miles

E X A C T L Y! :D

I mean really, do you think people are going to see you drive by in that 10 year old eclipse with the top down and drool? :p
