Should I buy a Miata?

Heres the deal. I started college in the fall of 03 and failed all my classes because I was irresponsible and not ready to live on my own and take on full-time college. Anyways I took the past 2 quaters off to work. I went to my college to talk about declaring a major and starting back in the fall. They said I was probably gonna be suspended from school for a year for failing all my classes. So heres my dilema now that you know that background.

If I am suspended Im gonna work full-time and save money. Now here are my 4 options. I could buy another better turbo DSM. I could buy a NICE drumset. I could buy a Miata. I could mod my current n/t DSM with 200k miles and 1 rebuild on it.

Keep in mind when giving me advice on what to do that insurance is a big deal for me. Which is going to be cheaper as far as cars. Then if I were to buy a new drumkit then I wouldnt have to worry about insurance increases. Im just lost on what to do. Theres also a chance that I may not get suspended at all. So this is all dependent on me getting suspended which I think would be kindof cool cuase I would get to get myself something nice.

if you ever get into an accident dont expect to come out of. Besides that there is nothing not to like it has 50/50 weight distrubtation, the LS model makes 146HP weights approx. 2,000lbs, the engine can withstand boost very well, 6spd, RWD

When my talon broke down I was stuck driving one for about a month. I had people who would laugh at me as they went by.

I would even get people who would yell ### and oh your car is so cute.
Might wanna keep that on a side note, cause even I have to say miatas are girly.

Fun to drive, handle/shift like a dream. but they are girly cars.

Buy a drumkit. I base my opinion just on the fact that you failed out of school before. I think you should take more time focusing on college and then save the money you will have for insurance and then buy some nice car after college when you have a pimp job. Or why not just wait until ur DSM just kicks the bucket and see what your options are.

Miatas are slow???? Have you ever driven one? That is the fastes stock n/t 4-banger Ive ever driven! The fact that its RWD makes it that much better. Dont ever call a car slow that you know nothing of. It has as much HP as an Eclipse n/t does and weighs like nearly 1000 pounds les. How is that slow??? Hmm...

My father had one and it wasn't "fast". Your definition of fast and ours must be different. Thet aren't exactly slow...but they aren't anything to brag about.

to everyone calling the miata a girl car, take a step back. The 2G eclipse has a similar reputation. I think a lowered miata with a removable hard top and twin roll bars looks good.

Non turbo 4 cylinders are slow. If you guys think a honda s2000 is fast then you have no idea what fast is. NO STOCK NA 4 CYLINDER IS FAST!!! Unless it's a bike . Miata, s2000, even a STOCK turbo dsm = slow.

well a S2000 sure is a lot faster than a miata. I think S2000s are fast for being NA. But nothing like a turbocharger.

Maybe you need to go to an autocrossing track and not a drag track. Bring some other forms of racing into your life. S2000s are nice but they are far from great for the price. I have many friends who have S2000s and they trade them for like WRXs and STis. You are bias but god knows why?!?! and second point is that you came into his thread and talked about something that wasnt even really the subject matter. S2ks are great cars but far from what I consider fast, and they are not the best cars to mod either.

S2K is a lot better than a miata. I wouldn't get either because they're NA. Miata is similar to a civic imo.
