For those of you that have this bar.

I read the posts that everybody says it is as good as the more expensive ones, but I just wanted to know about how thick it is and if it is bent up away from the engine compartment.

Or basically does it look like it may bend when it is put in axial compression.

I have both front and rear ,I love them they are really nice quality they are about an 1-1/2 x3/4 and yes the front one is bent up to avoid contact with the motor . And they are a great buy at $18.00 on E-Bay.
I have pics of both at my web site .

NO, but I know people that do and they flex alot. Any adjustable strut bar is going to flex. They my still help a little bit but nothing compared to solid one that attaches to your firewall.

so basically its as good as any strut bar that runs from strut to strut, but of course its not as good as the ones that hook onto both struts and the firewall.

No a nonadjustable that goes from strut to strut would still be better than theres, and there quailty of material is very low. If they offered is thing for free I would not take it.

i have the procarparts front strut tower brace. i've found it to be very similar (if not the exact same thing) as many other name brand (and more expensive) strut tower braces out there. quality and rigidity is about the same as the Suspension Techniques front STB that i had on my old 1G.

i will agree, though, that a solid, non-adjustable front STB (ie RRE) is 100 times better than any adjustable one.

i've got one, have no complaints...looks and feels great. friend also uses them on his mx-6 and is very happy with them. don't waste your money on some name brand $100 sturt bar. this is just as good.

Yes I have seen some $100.00 strut bars that appear to be the same as the procarparts strut bar. I would not suggest buying any adjustable strut bar. That was my point.

I'm not sure why they make adjustable strut bars. It might be cheaper but I wouldn't think so. With a solid bar you have to hold a closer tolerance. Which would be easy to do in a production enviroment because all the pieces could be placed in a jig and welded the same way at the same heat and you would be able to hold the tolerance very easily by doing that.
