Hey everyone, I got some 17inch Kosei K1 Racing wheels a month or so ago, and they didn't come with centercaps. America's Tire said Kosei doesn't make caps specifically for those rims. Tognotti's (custom wheel place) didn't have any that fit, and America's closest one was an Enkei cap that pops in from the outside and isn't very snug. The guy that was looking at it said "You're not going to be able to get a cap for this wheel," because there's no room between the hub and the inside of the rim. I was thinking if I removed the hub ring or somehow modified it to be stuck to a cap, it might fit. The hub ring I'm talking about is the plastic ring on the inside of the rim. Can anyone tell me what it's for or what a negative consequence of removing it would be? I would think it's just for the alignment of the wheel on the hub.
Here's a not so great pic of the wheel and my new red AWD brakes. The axle nut sticking out looks like ass, and I don't want dirt and crap getting in the bearings.
