I was thinking about using 27" tall rear slicks with 25" front tires on my AWD drag car. Would this be harmful to the viscous drive unit or have any other drawbacks? I'd like to use matching tire sizes, but I found a good deal on the taller slicks...Or is there a better tire option? Thanks for any input!

The front and rear ends are connected with a viscous coupling as I understand it. I think different size tires will just make the viscous fluid work more. But I'm not willing to bet my car on it...

You keep thinking, Sundance. It's what you're good at.

It'll overheat the coupling and make it fail. Same as towing with one end on the ground, just not so efficiently.

Back to the drawing board. Thanks for the advice. I guess that's what forums are for...

Think you used enough dynamite, Butch?
