bolt connecting toe arm to crossmember....

How do you remove it? I've removed the nut of course, but it won't come out. I need to replace the toe arm because the ball joint is bad.

In theory, once you've taken off the nut and washer, the bolt that holds the toe arm to the sub-frame should slide right out. Of course, theory and salt don't mix, so my guess is that the bolt has rust-welded to the inner sleeve of the arm's built-in bushing. This says two things: whack on the bolt after shooting lots of PB'laster at it, and then make sure that you replace the eccentric-head bolt when you put the new arm in. If whacking with penetrating oil doesn't do it, then it's time for heat. You can also try breaking the rust-weld using an inpact wrench on the head of the bolt.

I had the exactly same problem when I replaced my toe arms. Of course, mine is a 1997 and I live in central PA. I don't remember them using that much salt when I lived in Bawlmer; I only remember a lot of people who had no idea of how to drive on snow. And I was in an MR2 in those days!

PB'laster is at almost any auto-parts store. Some people like Liquid Wrench better in general, but for rust-welds, I like PB'laster the most.
