My front suspension is going bad ( stock ). I think the old onwer lived on a dirt road or something. I need a little help. I've never done' suspension on a car before and I don't know that much about cars, just the basics:| . What will I need, I don't want to lower it til next spring, but I want to repair the old suspension with aftermarket parts now and then throw on some springs in the spring. Should I or will I need struts, shocks? Or get coilovers now and adjust them later? Do our cars need camber kits(sp)? The suspension sounds like some of the bushings are really worn out.

Thanks for the help

Id just wait then. I know how it is with the suspension being messed. My front and rear struts have been blown for a while, along with most of the factory bushings being cracked/deteriorated to hell. I just delt with it till I had the money to upgrade, as I didnt want to spend money twice by buying stock stuff.

greetings A Van!

I read your post, and its kinda classic - you want to get your baby going, but are wondering if now is better due to costs, time, etc.

I'll kinda disagree with candela on this one, for the following: I use the list for priority of upgrades: safety, reliability, performance. Do the safe stuff when you need it, because it keeps you on the road, without fear of breakdowns (can you imagine yourself having to tell a jury why you didn't fix something when you had the chance? Yikes).

Next, tackle items the affect reliability. Then you can do the performance stuff.

If your example, I would NOT wait and take care of the suspension bushings now. You can take advantage and get the performance ones installed now - you take care of things using step one and two!

If you really think you can wait til next year, getting a good shock and spring setup will lower costs for you. If not, then the reliability issue takes effect - at least your car is still running.

I think you get the message now...have fun!

Kyle
