95 GTS need advice on wheel & tire size before I buy them

Great site but the more I read the more mixed up I get. I jave a 95 eclipse GST with Neuspeed 1.5" drop sports springs. I have ordered a Blitz body kit and am ready to order the tires and rims problem is I know I will need the camber kits as the 16" wheels are wearing now on the inside. I just do not want to order rims and tires only to have them rub. I would like 18" rims but if they are going to be more trouble that they are worth I will go with 17". Guess what I am asking is what sizes rims and tires do you guys run with a 1.5 or 2" drop? Need to know the rim,tire,and offset. Thanks a lot for the help!!

Dude, you won't rub with 18's if you get the right width. Just because the wheels bigger doesn't mean the whole diameter increases, unless you are a dumbass and get freaking 50 series tires or something, and well from your post it sounds like you are a dumbass, so.... i'd say go with a 23" rim with a 325/75/21 tires, it won't rub, i swear.

As “brentlsd” so eloquently stated, it’s not really the diameter you need to worry about, it’s the width and backspacing. I am using 235/40/18 tires on 18 x 8.5 inch rims with 35 mm backspacing. My car is lowered around 1.5 inches. I have not suspension clearance problems and no rubbing on the fenders because of a very stiff suspension.

It shouldn’t matter if you go with 17s or 18s because you should be keeping the overall tire diameter about the same.

The 18's with a 40 off set worked fine with a 2 inch drop
