SPRINGS OR COIL OVERS ON A 1G FOR THE STREET W/ 17" RIMS WHICH WOULD BE BETTER FOR RIDE QUALITY? ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES? THEY SEEM TO BE CLOSE IN PRICE.

i would like to say that it would be incorrect to use the words ride quailty and coilovers in the same sentence. they are bouncy, the springs sag BAD unless you go with ground control or skunk2, and the sleeves crack down the side after a while...causing the perches to lock up. i know this from experience. go with springs. solid ride, great handling!

I would like to say respectively that most of this statement is incorrect.

1). Coilovers do not = Bad ride. Too low, cheap shocks, cheap coilovers, and wrong rates/adjustments = bad ride.

2). As you said, Skunk2, GC, with the additions of Max Speed and DSS happen to be good quality coilovers that shouldnt have this "sagging" effect you speak of.

3). Cracking pillars accompany cheap companys like APC (cringe), Weapon R, Dropzone, etc. A good company will help assure this wouldnt happen. A good cheap coilover drop kit are Skunk2's, a good quality coilover drop kit are GC's, an excellent full coilover suspension is either JIC's or Tein's. You get what you pay for....

One thing suspension and motor mods have in common is that only with proper parts/tuning/adjustments will yield the best results.
