which springs should i get? i want extremely well handling, with not too much a rough ride, but i kinda like the way a dropped cr bums up and down, not too much though. i will be using kyb agx shocks, this car will see track time and road course time but more street time than anything. maybe some serious high speed road course and freeway time as well. so which of the two does everyoe recomend? i dont mind a nice low stance.

my buddy has the sportlines...the lower and more aggressive springs of the two...and it handles nicely compared to mine with out....and the lowered stance looks mean as hell!!!! but you do have to crawl over speed bumps with them.....
if i were to do my springs right now i would do coilovers, but if i only had a choice between the sportline and proline, i would go with the sportline.

Pro kit if you dont want to deal with all the problems going really low will cause (damage on the body if you dont know how to drive, wheel rub, camber kit...ect.)

hmmm, does it have the slightly bouncy ride i am looking for? or better yet, how do they perform? can i push my car to limits with them? cuz i may need them for some serious sharp cornering and stff like that.

I am currently looking at purchasing a set of KYB AGX for my '96 RS and want springs. I was having trouble deciding between pro-kit and sportline so I contacted Eibach. They said should be no compatibility issues with either kit. However, I e-mail KYB just to confirm and they said Pro-kit is not compatible with KYB AGX but the SportLine goes great with the AGX model. Just an FYI...

I will be purchasing sportline but Eibach has a damper set designed specifically for the pro-kit. You may want to check that out.

Peace,

i don't know who said that but there are hundreds of DSM owners (including myself as of yesterday) that have the pro-kit /AGX setup and love it. I think they were going on a usage bases, the sportlines would go better with the AGX b/c the sportlines leave such little room for error (fender/wheel rub) that you need the stiffest, most responsive shock they make, which are the AGX. This is probably how they judged what they were telling you. As long as they are made for the car, they will work together....just a Q of how well.

I installed a set of pro kits with AGXs about a month ago and have had no problems at all. Great set up.

I thought so...it sounded strange to me. It was the sales rep via e-mail at KYB (Tony something) that told me no on the pro-kit. Thanks for the reply though.

I have stock suspension and am looking ot upgrade. I have HRC Stage 2 Turbosystem in the mail on the way :thumb: and am wanting to improve my handling to complement the new power.

I am definitely going with KYB AGX. I guess I will wait to see what survey says before deciding on springs.

peace:dsm:

the 1g awd sits tractor trailor high, i have the sportlines and love them...the look and the ride are really good, and if you are going with kyb agxs then you are set. you will need a rear camber kit though, i am in the process of ordering one from taboo b/c it is adjustable. hope this helps.

the pro kit's don't really do a lot for me, i put some on my girlfriends tiburon and it's a good setup for her b/c she has 18's and there is not a rubbing issue or camber issue. they don't tuck the 18's, yet there is no wheel gap. again, this is for her benefit and not mine. hers is a daily driver, while mine is about to be down for a little while.

from 1g dsmr to 1g dsmr, go with the sportlines. you'll be a lot happier.

I personally think Eibach are some of the worst springs out there b/c they sag like a Mother ####er. Prokits aren't that bad but they are still Eibachs. Stay away from Sportlines. If i were you i would look into other spring setups. Have you seen H&R springs they make great products way better than Eibach.

I run Sportlines with KYB AGX on my 1G. Car has 18's with no rubbing probs. Set AGX's to 1 front and rear to prevent bouncing your head off of the roof for street use. HUGE difference over stock for AutoX.

I JUST INSTALLED KYB AGX'S AND SPORTLINES THIS PAST SATURDAY. THE DROP IS NOT YET WHAT I HAD EXPECTED. MAYBEE THEY'LL SETTLE A LITTLE.

THE RIDE, HOWEVER, EXCEEDS MY EXPECTATIONS. I TEST DROVE IT LAST NIGHT AND --WOW--.

I DO HAVE A SEVERE CAMBER SITUATION IN THER REAR. I WILL BE CORRECTING THIS VERY SOON.
