Where to buy slicks?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

-Tirerack.com have them & can be shaved or unshave, tires.com aka discount tire don't carry them but they offer free shipping, I'm sure you can special order from discount tire, have them match the tirerack's price and throw in free shipping, fyi america's tire and discount tire are the same company.

-Slick.

hey slick those aren't slicks

slicks are made by a few companies...mickey thompson, hoosier,M&H,Goodyear

i've seen only a few sizes available for FWD....24.5x7x13,20x8x14,22x8x15

those are made my mickey thompson......i don't think the 13 and 14 inch tires will work with the DSM brakes.......

I've heard a few people running the 22x8x15 and having sucess although the overall diameter is a bit small

the slick is a bias-ply type tire and the tire you mentioned is a radial type tire...completely different types of tires

a drag slick has no tread on it and is very soft rubber to get maximum traction (very soft sidewalls)

a road-racing tire still may have a little tread on it but is a very stiff tire to take the cornering
